Is making mistakes in life worth it?

I know I need to change.

Because I was wrong all this time.

When I was a teenager I ignored friends who genuinely cared for me and chased people who were too arrogant to be my friend.

In school and college I focused on the wrong sets of values – marks, college name, too much all round development activities instead of knowledge, focus and hardwork.

Truth be told I was arrogant and a lot more selfish than I am today.

But it was also not entirely my fault because it is a mental illness.

Now I feel like I made these mistakes in life unknowingly and I am feeling regret.

But if I think that way, I would be wrong.

Because people don’t regret things they did, but things they didn’t.

I actually did stuff. I failed multiple times in life. I lost friends. I messed up big time.

But that gave me wisdom.

I know the value of simplicity, humility and a realistic perspective because I had none of these values until a few years ago.

So yes, making mistakes in life is worth it 100%.

I’m glad you read this line. Thanks a lot!

I’d write for free

What job would you do for free?

I honestly am very lazy. So I need external motivation like money for doing anything.

But the one thing I would do even if I’m not paid for is writing.

And that writing should be on my terms.

I don’t need a boss for writing for free. I don’t need a salary.

So yes I would write for free but only if it’s not a job.

I’m glad you read this line. Thanks a lot!

I felt heard

Today the psychiatrists at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences(NIMHANS, Bangalore) asked my history again after 8 years to understand my real problems.

For the past few days I was feeling scared of not being understood and being judged by them.

But I felt heard today.

I felt like the psychiatrists understood me.

And I got more insights into my problems.

I’m glad you read this. Thanks a lot!

I hadn’t posted yesterday because I was feeling a bit low. Thanks for understanding!

Forgiveness is the greatest dharma/religion

I am not a saint nor am I am scientist.

But I admit when I am wrong or when I made a mistake.

One day I had said something that hurt my grandmother.

She felt misunderstood and hurt.

But she forgave us.

My uncle later said this line “Forgiveness is the greatest dharma”.

Forgive is indeed the greatest dharma. It is the ultimate tool for healing.

It can stop wars, change people, heal hearts, etc.

It can also replace any organized religion.

When you know the value of forgiveness you don’t need another religion because you treat the other person like you treat yourself.

You try to find God in the other person by putting aside your assumptions for a moment.

I know this post is a bit disorganised. It’s because I am going through a big change in my life.

I’m glad you read this line. Thanks a lot!

We were extremely lucky during the pandemic

How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

Being citizens of India, having access to vaccines, having no job losses, we were extremely lucky.

In the COVID-19 pandemic I saw that many of my relatives died. But my immediate family, my parents and siblings were healthy.

My father’s role was crucial here. He was very proactive.

Despite my anxiety he himself cooked healthy protein rich foods, we never had shortages of masks and we got vaccinated on time.

I feel sorry for the people who didn’t have the privilege of good health in the COVID-19 pandemic.

I wouldn’t say I’m glad you read this line because the COVID-19 pandemic was nothing to be proud of.

We were just extremely lucky by God’s infinte grace.

Thanks for reading!

10 things that inspire me that might inspire you

Here are 10 things that inspire me that might inspire you-

  1. Leaders (because it shows me that one man can change the world). For me it’s Gandhi and Dr. B R Ambedkar, etc. For you it may be someone else.
  2. Parents’ love (because it’s truly selfless and unconditional)
  3. Wild and stray animals (because it gives me hope. Why do stay animals strive for survival even though they don’t have much intelligence, no plan for life, no careers? Maybe because they aren’t or can’t suffer in thought obsessively like us.)
  4. Doing what I love (because it gives me joy. I love reading novels, writing blogs, learning stuff, etc. And it gives me joy.)
  5. Realizing my mistakes (I am open to learning my mistakes and I am flexible to learn my mistakes. Maybe that’s my gift. But it inspires me because it makes me grow as a person.)
  6. Being grateful (because it is one of the truths of existence. “You haven’t created the air that you breathe, so stay humble because someone else did it for you to be alive.” which is something a person I know said to me.)
  7. Overcoming fear (because it makes me grow as a person and allows me to do things I can’t do or haven’t done before.)
  8. Doing something creative (because it gives me self-knowledge and the pleasure of helping people feel good from my creative work gives me joy.)
  9. Accomplishing something difficult (because it gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride.)
  10. Praying to God (because it feels good. I’m just like the average person who prays to God for a salary hike next quarter. But I feel it’s my duty to pray to God for no reason.)

There are other things that inspire me but here’s the top 10.

I’m glad you read this line. Thanks a lot!
