The Struggle: Feeling Sleepy And Still Writing

The author writes about how in spite of feeling sleepy, he is struggling to writing a blog post early morning.

I’m writing this as I feel sleepy. I woke up minutes ago and I started writing.

It is 06:55AM and I still feel sleepy.

But I slept on time yesterday.

And as I remember about yesterday and think deeply about topics, I start becoming more awake.

But I feel sleepy.

I don’t drink much coffee because someone told me once that coffee worsens anxiety.

But I really want to write a blog post today. Even if it means writing badly.

Or writing something that is based on sleep and coffee.

I just know one thing — I need to write.

I’m a writer. And I will write. That’s my job.

I know I’m struggling to stay awake. But that’s the nature of life— struggle.

Struggle is the way.

If you don’t have struggles, you’re missing out on progress.

And just now I closed my eyes and I was about to fall asleep in my chair.

But I forced myself to stay awake.

The struggle is real.

Right now I’m thinking about making a hot drink for myself. Not coffee but Boost(without sugar).

I’ll be right back.

I just made two cups of Boost(hot drink) for myself and my elder sister.

And after doing this activity itself I feel less sleepy.

Now the time is 07:28AM and I don’t even know if what I’m writing makes any sense.

The Present And The Future Is All That Matters

The present and the future is all that matters. I have done many stupid things in my life. But thinking about the future gives me hope.

Do you think about your past and feel negative emotions like regret or embarrassment? Do you wish you focused on the present and the future more?

Then this blog post is for you.

When I was younger I did many stupid things which I would not do now.

I failed in class, dropped out of engineering college, felt a lot of entitlement when I was younger, etc.

And there are many smaller things I have done which make me feel embarrassed even today.

But those things don’t matter. Because they are irrelevant.

All that matters is the present and the future.

Because life is about self-discovery, not the past life.

Every day when I think about doing something I think about this in some way or the other.

I think that life is about self-discovery and that there are so many things I can discover about myself when I try new things.

There’s no point remembering the past.

I think maintaining a journal is helpful for this reason. Because writing helps you write the memories down and let it go in some way.

I write in a journal almost daily. And it’s fun.

I write what I feel in the present and what happened in the past and what I want in life in the future.

So yeah the past doesn’t matter. All that matters is the present and the future.

Instagram: How To Not Be Addicted To It

Right now my brain is fried. I reinstalled instagram yesterday.

And I’m not saying that it’s bad or something.

It’s good. But sometimes it just becomes addictive.

Like when I woke up today and sat at my desk to write a blog post.

And I opened instagram instinctively on my phone.

And I just kept scrolling.

I even had my phone volume on mute but still I got sucked into it.

And that’s what I think is the danger.

And I know I shouldn’t try to fight it alone.

I need to uninstall it and maybe replace this habit with something else.

But nothing’s as satisfying as this when it comes to scrolling.

And I know I need to overcome it.

I sat down to write a blog post but all I’m writing now is a rant against instagram.

I just want to let everyone who is reading this blog post know that-

Please take control of your life and limit instagram usage.

It’s time you concentrate on more useful stuff like upskilling yourself.
